William Assad, M.D.
Radiation Oncology

Dr. William Assad is a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist who has served as the Chief of Tampa General Hospital's Radiation Therapy Department from 1989 to 2011.
Dr. Assad is also an associate member of H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, and associate professor at the USF School of Medicine. He currently serves as the Chief of Medicine at Memorial Hospital of Tampa. Dr. Assad received his degree from University of Cairo, Egypt in 1974, and completed his residency and fellowship in General Surgery in 1981.

He then completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York in 1985, serving as Chief Resident and during his last year he was appointed Attending Physician. Aside from being a specialist on cancers of the neck, lung, breast and prostate.

Dr. Assad has a special interest in brachytherapy seed implant for prostate cancer and choroidal melanoma. His professional affiliations include membership of the American College of Radiation Oncology, associate membership of the American Society of Head and Neck Surgery, and Florida Society of Clinical Oncology.
